About the Blog

“The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. You make known to me the path of life; in Your Presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. “ -Psalm 16:5-9, 11

Welcome to A Beautiful Inheritance.

I am honored that you would come for a visit. Here are some of the prayers and purpose behind this site, to show you a little bit more of my heart for this place.

I pray that you will feel welcome here at my second home, that you’ll find some encouragement or humor or something relevant – one of those “So I’m not the only one” moments.

I also pray that this will be a safe place to honestly wrestle with fears, doubts and hard questions in order to shed God’s light on them. More than anything else, I want this to be a place to encounter more of Who Jesus Christ is in order to know Him. Really know Him.

A main purpose of this pretty little site (that my hubby designed and tweaked a million times for me) is that this would be a place that reminds me that the boundary lines in my life have indeed fallen in pleasant places. I have been given an awesome responsibility, as a wife, to serve and support my husband in all that God desires to do in and through his life. I have also been given two precious children to steward for as many days as the Lord graciously allows, and that I want to do that well – with purpose and vision and love. These are the two greatest roles that I have been chosen to fill, and the most important ministries I will ever be called to. My heart is often forgetful and misguided, and so I need these reminders to keep my priorties in check.

I also desire that this will be a place where I can share honestly and transparently about what the Lord is teaching me, what I am struggling and wrestling with, and also the joys and fun things that I experience in this crazy, wonderful, millisecond of a life. I have found that when I take note of His blessings, I am better able to unwrap their fullness and examine them better, savor them a little bit longer than my often foolish, impatient heart does naturally. Normally I would just do this in my own personal journal (much safer there for this here introvert), but a few years back, I sensed the Holy Spirit directed me to share what He was showing me. In doing that, I have found that He continues to reveal more and more of Himself to me through the sharing. This blog is just one very practical way that I am continuing to pursue His Presence. I hope that you will join me.

A Little About Me

My name is Jenny and I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. By God’s ever-extravagant grace, I am a wife of a loving, servant-hearted husband (Jordan Wesley), who, along with a million other things, designs pretty web homes like this one. I am also a somewhat new SAHM of two amazing blessings from God that I call the Sweetness (Natalie Kaylen) and the Little Prince (Peter Wesley).
